The farm is great for the kids to see chickens, cows, sows. There is a beautiful view from the northern edge of the property, a view to die for, don’t miss it, we almost left after seeing the animals and just by chance wondered up to the edge of the escarpment. All I can tell you is it’s incredible, an absolute must see, it’s worth the drive from the west coast all on its own. Thank you to the owners for allowing us to wonder around your gorgeous property. We will definitely come back next time we visit. Thanks again.

Our guided walking tour of Peg Farm was fun, informative, and motivational. From the walk through the gully to the up close and personal experience with pigs, chickens, guinea fowl, and cows Peg Farm is a fantastic place with an admirable agenda--sustainable eco farming and a delicious farm to table dining experience. We enjoyed pulled pork pancakes, French toast, beet & papaya salad, and eggs Benedict. Everything was absolutely wonderful and I would highly recommend a visit toPeg Farm when you visit Barbados.

Really enjoyed this tour!
I enjoyed the diversity of the experience, as in, we went through the gully, reached a beautiful viewpoint, discovered the use of plants in a medicinal garden, visited the farm animals....
The tour guide was very knowledgeable and friendly, making this a very pleasant experience.

The fact that breakfast and lunch were included was definitely a plus, as the food was really good!
(Although, they didn't have any sweet breakfast for vegans and they cooked me crispy breadfruit instead, which is quite bland on its own - but the vegan lunch was super tasty!)

I liked the ethics of the projects too, definitely one to support!
An unexpected gem hidden in the countryside

We had been touring the East side of the island and were heading from Bathsheba, up the steep hill towards St Joseph’s church. Stuck behind a slow truck we couldn’t overtake we suddenly saw a sign on the left to PEG.

Following the signs for five minutes up an even steeper hill, the road levelled out and it appeared on our left.

We stopped for lunch and as it was about 1.30 there was only one other table in use (we’d missed the rush apparently).

Probably the best decision we made that day.

Between us we chose the green salad, the chicken wrap with plantain chips and the pancakes with pulled pork. I also decided on a cheeky artisanal beer from the South of the island.

Wow. The food was amazing. Fresh from farm to table it was a delicious feast and one of the best meals we have had on the island.

The pulled pork on a short stack of pancakes was something else. An astonishing dish.

We were looked after by Shakeena, our waitress and by Head Chef Rebecca and cook Shamarind in the kitchen.

The location is wonderful with open sides to the restaurant and a gentle natural cooling breeze from the east coast making it a perfect location.

If you are on the island you should make a trip to visit the team at PEG. They also do tours where you can roam the entire place, and have lunch, and they have a camping (actually Glamping) set up which we would have loved to try.

An amazing place, tucked away, but well worth the effort to visit.
