Swan Street is a historic walking street. These buildings were traditionally houses with businesses below. This street is located in the capital of Barbados, Bridgetown, and in the past it was known as the Street of the Jews, mainly due to the successful Jewish merchants who had their shops and businesses on this stretch of the street. Goods imported from Europe were in high demand at the time, and as a result, the Jews literally had sole control over the importation and sale of goods.
