While in port in Bridgetown, discover top Barbados attractions and swim in the tropical Caribbean Sea on this 5-hour island highlights shore excursion. Enjoy panoramic views from Cherry Tree Hill, soak up coastal scenery at Bathsheba and discover one of the world’s last sugarcane windmills, the Morgan Lewis Windmill. You'll also visit St John’s Church, one of the country's oldest churches, and see the UNESCO World Heritage site where Barbados’ flag of independence first flew. End with a scenic swim and beach lounge at Carlisle Bay.

When your cruise ship docks in Bridgetown, you'll be picked up from the cruise terminal and whisked away on a 5-hour shore excursion to some of Barbados' hand-picked highlights.

Head to the east side to take in beautiful island views from atop Cherry Tree Hill, then continue to the historic Morgan Lewis Windmill. Listed on the World Monuments Watch list, this is one of the last working sugarcane mills in the world, where you can view interesting historical photos and artifacts from the former plantation.

Drive through the popular getaway destination of Cattlewash to the fishing village of Bathsheba, home to the ‘Soup Bowl’ — a famous Barbados surf spot. Pause to take in the splendid coastal scenery: powerful waves and white-sand beaches stretching along a rock-studded, wind-swept shore.

Your next stop is St John’s Church, one of the oldest churches in Barbados, where you'll enjoy panoramic views over the island landscape from your vantage point on the high clifftop.

Continue to St Ann's Garrison, also known as the Garrison Historic Area, built by British colonists in 1705 as the first military garrison in the West Indies. This area — today a UNESCO World Heritage site — holds special significance to the people of Barbados, as it was here in 1966 that they lowered the British Union Jack and raised their flag of independence in its place.

Wrapping up your half-day Barbados tour, make your way to the pristine white sands and azure blue waters of Carlisle Bay, one of the most beautiful coastal stretches in Barbados. Unwind on the beach, take a dip in the sea and sip on a complimentary drink from the comfort of your lounge chair.

Head back to the Bridgetown port to end your shore excursion.
